Map of Returning

I return to the pages,

To gather my pieces,

Grinding time into shape—

Somewhere a potter’s wheel

Keeps turning.

The air still trembles,

As if it were pouring

Something unnamed

On a map of returning.

Tangled, braided secrets

And blank pages,

And the revolving door.

Bain-marie

Keeps it warm.
